Welcome

Loundsley Green Methodist Church (above) is in a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) with the Church of the Ascension (Anglican) (below). Both churches serve the community around them as one body. They will soon be worshipping under one roof, as one congregation. An Ecumenical Church Council continues to lead this LEP forward.

To achieve this we will:
• LET GO:
Together, in faith and in a spirit of sacrifice we will seize the opportunity to journey together and build on and celebrate the richness of both our traditions.

• MOVE ON:
Together through sharing our God given gifts and graces we will serve all age groups:
- By recognising and sharing our Lay and Ordained ministry.
- By combining our leadership, our administration and our finances.
- By developing one accessible building as a base for our worship and mission, that has a ‘presence’ within the community, serving both the wider community and the worshipping community. *

• REACH OUT:
Together we will demonstrate God's love and care for our world.
- We will work with others to meet the needs of our community, as shown in the community profile and the wider world. We will join with others in the struggle for justice and stand alongside those in trouble or need.
- We will grow more disciples of Jesus Christ.

We aim to see lives changed by:

• Engaging in meaningful and flexible worship, relevant to the present age and celebrating both our traditions, using multi-media alongside hymn books.

• Deepening our spirituality and our commitment to God and encouraging each other through prayer and pastoral care.

• Developing discipleship through housegroups, Bible Studies and Workshops and whatever other ways that may be appropriate.

• Exploring Fresh Expressions of church.

• Being constantly open to respond to God's further leading.
